Creating a 'Quick' Spatial Calibration
The method described in this section assumes that the image you are calibrating does not need to be corrected for aspect ratio -- that is, the proportion between width and height is correct.
To create a 'quick' spatial calibration, there must be a feature pictured in the image that has a known length value in terms of the units of interest. This method is ideal, for example, if you have captured an image with an object of known length in it for the purpose of calibrating your images.
Open the image you want to calibrate or that you want to use to create the calibration definition.

Click the Quick Calibration tool.
Draw a line over the object of known length in the image.
You will see the Calibrate by feature dialog.
Assign a name to the calibration in the Calibration name text box.
Select the units in the Units drop-down list.
Type the length of the object of known length in the Feature size spin box.
Indicate if this is a system or reference calibration.
Click OK.
